Minor victory

I had a bit of success today. I took my handful of spliced together radiator hoses over to the parts counter at the local parts store fully expecting the mouthbreather behind the counter to give me a ration of malarckey due to the fact that I didn't have a clue as to what might fit. (truck is a 49 F1, 500ci Caddy, and a Dodge truck radiator).
I got lucky, the young lady behind the counter smiled at me and led me to the wall of hoses and told me to take all the time I needed to search through and find hoses that would work. After a short bit of scrounging around I was able to come up with an upper hose that will fit perfectly and a lower hose that will fit after a small amount of trimming. The gal even tried to do a reverse look up on the part #'s to tell me what application they are for but her system wouldn't spit out the answer.

Woohoo!!! one more little baby step forward!! (I just had to share)

Bobby -

Maybe you should change your signature line to "Scrounging is an art form". Congrats.

Randy,

Thanks. Sometimes I enjoy the "scrounging" I believe that 90% of the time the correct part is out there, already mass produced for the masses. The hard part is locating it or finding a source to get it.
The other 10%? well, those parts have to be fabricated I guess.
