Hello everyone. My dad has a '94 F-250 Diesel. The driver's side mirror has a crack so he ordered a new one. I told him I would replace it for him, as I only thought it would take a few minutes. After I removed the little black cover to remove the mirror bolts it appeared that one of the bolts was inside the door and not accessible. Is anyone familiar with the procedure to replace the mirror or know of where I can get directions to do so? Thanks in advance for your help.
If I remember correctly, the only two types of mirrors for that MY/94 were the steel 'Western' swing away, and the 'low mount' plastic.. Not sure what 'little' black cover your referring too if 94.. The plastic low mount unit does have a 'leg' that is attached to the mirror ‘and’ reinforcement panel/shell on the inboard side of the door.. The trim panel needs to be removed to access this bolt.. Plus, the mirror glass (if thats what broken) is replaceable without the whole head needing replacement within this unit..
What is the OEM part number on the Ford box for clarification/MY??
Welcome to FTE ....

Sorry I meant a '04 F-250. Just replaced the alternator in my '93 Lexus so I was stuck in the 90's. The little piece I was referring to was the panel inside the door to access the bolts. Guess that's what happens when you get in a hurry typing. Thanks again for any help anyone can offer.
All the holes/bolts are accessible from the cover area.. Two are behind the foam/isulation tape (at the cover attachment points) and the other two behind the body/door 'large' rubber plugs..
