i have a ford 9 inch out of a 77 f-150 tag# are WDM-BC2-7EC 3.00 9 3860 whats the gears and will it go in my 79 bronco? the tag is missing on my rearend now so i`m not sure what the gears in my bronco are. how do i go about finding out what they are?

You are going to have to ident the Bronco gears to confirm actually what they are.
There a few methods, the best is to remove the diff and count the splines on both the ring gear & pinion shaft and then do the math.
This beats the guessing or possible gear replacements without the paper work saying so or having the proper tag.
Yeah, the F-150 has 3.00 gears, and 78 79 Broncos didn't come with anything other than 3.50 gears front and rear, and there is no way you could use a 3.50 up front with a 3.00 out back, unless you took out the front drive shaft or did a gear swap to match the other.
nothing i just cut the axle off goin down the road i was just woundering about splines before i took it apart. didnt want screw up the seals if i didnt have to
