OK, I installed a rebuilt Holley Motorcraft carb I bought from Kragen in, and it had a few different setups for the vacuum lines than the old carb had. The problem I'm having is my throttle plate isn't moving at all, it seems to have a vacuum setup. My old one had an electrical wire running to it, but that wasn't hooked up to anything. It's driving me crazy because it keeps running my mix too rich and flooding the engine. I don't have too much time to just mess with it because I'm driving all the time and don't want to mess around with it too much. If anybody has any pics of their vacuum setup, or can give a detailed description of the hookups, that'd be a world of help.
I went on the Holly website, and it was no help. It's a 2 barrel, and they don't have them listed. Any help would be great!
Thanks
taylor
The line hooked up to my choke right now connects to the brake system. I know it's part of the vacuum assist on the brakes. When I remove it the RPMs go up slightly and the engine rattles a bit more if i don't plug the line. Both the line and the choke have suction coming from them, so I'm sure it's not the right hookup. I wish I had some pictures, I'll try and find someone with a digital camera I guess...
yeah, that looks like the right model. hmm... mine's missing the choke pull down diaphram and the throttle postioner solonoid. that could be a problem...
well that's a relief, I still need to figure out why my engine's running so rich, it's eating gas like crazy, and after I run it for too long, it starts to flood and the whole truck reeks of gas...
