Whats the trick to turn the distributor to time the truck right?

losen the bolt at the base of it, twist it.

use a timing light, time it to your specs...depending on the engine you have.

you also need to make sure it doesn't spark knock...or ping, which is early detonation....

theres one big screw right at the base...if it wont twist...its just stuck...

how do u unstick it? can u put like wd-40 to break it free?

sure you could, try that first. If that dont work...the darn thing might be really stuck and take some tools to get it apart, what motor is it?

351 W i need to time it and i cant move the distributor

Aluminum distributor + Iron manifold + Age = Stuck! Heat from propane torch is most likely solution. May take several heat/cool cycles + penetrating oil afterwards. Be really careful, don't burn anything and DON'T invert torch.

Using all this stuff to get the distributor to move may cause the O ring on the distributor to leak. Are you SURE that your timing is off?
