Brake dust covers

Hi, I have an '03 Ranger FX4, I want to put brake dust covers on the front wheels to keep down the brake dust, I heard they don't work, anyone using them? Are they a gimmick?, I was told they hold in heat and make your rotors warp...

Welcome to the board. I think if you take it easy on the driving and wash your truck regularly it won't be a problem. And what's up with copying my screen name?

Haha. Weird.

If you use ceramic pads, I've heard they cut down on the brake dust. They're harder than composite pads, so you'll go through rotors faster.

I have an 05 F150 Lariat 18" alloy wheels. In 3-4 days the brake dust was horrible on the front. I purchased the Kleen Wheel Dust Covers. They are designed with what they call turbo vents which helps with the cooling. They have been on now for 3 weeks and there is a virtually no dust at all. They do work! No problems and they fit very nice. Mine are black matte finish, however they are now available in about 11 different colors.
