What do you think is the most aggressive looking mud tire. I am thinking of getting a set of 315 75R 16 with the Mickey Thompson Classic Lock rims 16 X 10
It's not my personal choice for a Mud Terrain, but the Nitto Mud Grappler is one of the most aggressive looking tires out there, resonably priced, and most say it wears and balances well.
Most aggressive looking mud tire has to be a bogger, but they are expensive, and they don't wear good at all but for pure looks thats the one, the rest are just ATs in my opinion.
here is a pic of cut, and uncut boggers side by side to show you what I mean.
Larbec, if you are going to run these tires as much on the road as off-road, the mud boggers are not going to wear very well. They are also going to be very loud. You probably already know this. Monsterbaby and others have already pointed this out. I would compromise somewhat and go with the Toyo M/T. Nitto Mud Grapplers, as stated earlier, would be good as well. http://www.toyo.com/tires/tire_lines/off_road/opmt.html
Do you think the Toyo is better than the BF Goodrich?
Which BFG? I just have had very good luck with Toyo tires. I have the Open Country A/T (17k miles) on my 2004 F150 and couldn't be happier with them. I also know several people that have run their tires, and they all have had good luck with them. They also have been rated #1 in quality for the past 8 years. Most BFG tires are good also IMO. *You just have to decide which characteristics (looks, wear, noise etc.) are most important to you.
Toyo owns Nitto, you can verify it by going to the company history on the Toyo world webpage, I think it's under "company timeline" or something like that.
