I,ve got a White XLT. Had it about 10 years.
I havn't used it but about 5 times since June of 96.
I found several old "V"-nickels,some gold rings, a bounch of pull tabs.
I,ve got pennies stashed in sammich baggies all around the house, but none very old.
I have arthritus in my knees and can't get down to dig very well now so I don,t use it very often.
Anybody collect pop tops or pull tabs or aluminum foil???

Now that he's admitted it, I think Speeder's kinda tip-toeing around that one. But like the song says- "The ladies all get purtier at closin' time"!

I had an ugly experience with the treasure hunters.
Two of us took a contracto to tear down two Barracks at an Air Force base.
Being that we were totaly responsible for the removal and disposal, I felt everything at the site was ours.
One night I came back late to get some tools, and here was some AX hole with his MD taking up stuff from around our porch steps.
At first I was angry, then angrier and I got the MP's.
They gave him a choice of going to the PMO for processing as a Tresspassor and possibly theft, or emptying his pockets and giving it all to me. So I got the stuff.
It wasn't much, just coins.
I probably should have demanded his MD.

I drive by these old abandond homesites. Just a chimney sticking up among the overgrowth. That should yeild some interesting finds.
Coins in Tin cans, buried just under the edges of the old houses. Sure sounds intriguing, but boy oh boy, you'd want the owners permission before you went at that.

If I ever get a good powerfull MD I may go after some Civil war relics here. There was supposedly a battle on the Ridge just across the road from my house.

At my property in Louisiana, I had a target about the length of a Rifle Barrell. Bent at one end.
Somehow I never got around to digging it up. Not when my MD couldnt find a nicke in the grass.

I'd also look for stolen/ditched Outboard motors around the lake I lived on.
I just cant justify the time to go Treasure hunting when I have so many unfinished projects to have fun with.

The wife has a White Surfmaster PI, DFX and a XLT, she and I have found coins, jewelry rings, chains. She found a Ruger Security 6 357 in stainless at the beach. Later she found a Smith 357, it took days to get all the parts as it was hammered apart and has a dirty background. I live on an island with a beach besides many parks. She found a set of gold fangs, that was a "best find" at the detector club. The rush or thrill is great as well it pays for the detectors. There are many great detector forums out there.
