Well its been a while since I posted a silly question so here goes...
I would like to know if there is any advantage to shimming the FPR if you have done a "clamp" mod??? I dunno if there is an added benifit...
I would like to also know if anyone has noticed any hard shifting from there auto trans with the clamp mod?
Also, is there any differance in the glow plug relay from your standard everyday "starter type" relay???
Thanks in advance for the help!
Never tried the clamp mod, but there can be no disadvantage to it. Increasing the fuel pressure in the rails helps fill the injectors faster, so it should augment the clamp fairly well.
Don't see how the clamp would affect the tranny at all. At worst it should only set an ICP code, and the tranny should not react to that at all.
I suppose any old relay you cared to bolt in there would work, so long as it can carry an 80-100 amp load.
Didn't see any silly questions. Thought all of those were pretty good ones.
Relays: Some are continuous duty and some are momentary like starter relays. I recommend a continous duty for the GP's as they need to stay on for a while in cold weather.
It's a 10k mod on steroids. I never wanted to try it because of very high EGT issues and I was guageless at the time. I'll try and find where it's listed. Suffice it to say you already have your Edge, so I wouldn't bother if I were you.
