Just courious

To all who rebuilt their 2.9's how much did you spend and what all did you do to it. I am just trying to figure out how much Im going to spend

Ispent right a 1300. I rebuilt it stock .030 over, the bearings are .010. The kit ran me 560. It included pistons, cam, oil pump, rings and bearing and all gaskets. I upgraded the cheap stuff for the good stuff when I ordered it. other wise it would have been around 480. The machine work is what cause, valve job, ground crank, bored, and cam bearings installed. Then I bought new water pump and all new hoses and belts. A new long block would have ran me around 1600 + the new water pump, belts, hoses, etc. Cheapest place I found to get the rebuild kit was Northern Auto Parts. I have used their kits on several engines.
