a4ld pump shaft new problem
ok so i rebuilt the a4ld myself and installed some upgrades to 4.0 specs.
along the way i lost the book and now i don't know how the shaft in front of the pump goes it has splines on both sides which side goes in which side????

Are you talking about the input shaft?

My 1989 manual says..... insert the input shaft, short splines down, through the center support and into the forward clutch.

i put the new front seal on and i took out the shaft by mistake. yea ken you hit the mark

should the tq spin freely or should it lock in place???
