Just did the 6637 filter mod on my truck, it was a good decision. This thing sucks some serious air; it breaths so much better than that dinky cone filter I had on before. Check out my gallery for pics.

just did mine last weekend too! it is an addicting thing...sounds almost like a blow off valve on a gasser but sounds much better from the diesel!! did my ccv while i was at it and some much needed cleaning...pics avail.
I have been reading up on changing my air intake set up and have come across this filter a few times. Tell me is this the way to go or what? I have a 02 f350 with the 7.3 all I have done is the superchips tuner and I'm ready to put the 4" turbo back system on. Is this 6637 filter from Wix?

The 6637 is a great, very easy and inexpensive way to increase air flow. I just did it on mine. I am upgrading the exhaust tomorrow and adding a Superior Wheel ("wicked wheel"). Should really improve airflow. I, along with many others in this forum would highly recommend this filter, excellent filtering and flow. Just make sure you get it on tight and check and retighten as necessary. Can't beat the price, less than $20 at http://www.fleetfilter.com/ . There is a link on their home page to the 46637 filter for the 7.3.
Opps, guess I didn't post soon enough, Springerpop, you beat me to it.
Great thanks for the help, I will just order from fleet filter, I also need fuel and oil. I don't drive the truck every day mainly for towing my 5th wheel so I can wait.
By the way, Bonus, welcome to our Happy Fizzies Party! A nicer, more helpful, knowledgeable, bunch of guys you're never going to find elsewhere!
Every day I'm glad to be a part of this "Knowledge Bank" Put something in, take something out. Likely more information here than all the schools your dealer's "Factory Trained Mechanic" has been to, and a WHOLE LOT MORE intuitive problem diagnosis is going on.
If you stick around, you'll learn a LOT about your truck in a rather short time.
After a while, when you find it really worthwhile, consider being a supporter. It's cheap "mechanical insurance", and helps Ken to buy the bandwidth. Additionally, you get the forums in "full-screen".
It's all here at FTE, an off-ramp of the Information Super-highway!

I couldn't find it anywhere, but I remember reading that the early 99 has smaller hose/duct and needs some modification to fit the 6637 mod? Can someone point me in the right direction. I would like to do this mod ASAP.
