I'm using the predator tow mode on my 2005 f350 psd dually and love it. I'm towing a 15k fifth wheel and it helps tremendously. The only problem is the high egts it produces going up long inclines. I have a pyro to keep an eye on it, so I'm not going over. However, it creates a vicious cycle of backing off the throttle til the egts drop, then accelerating, causing the egts to increase, forcing me to back off the throttle, etc. Each time, losing a little more momentum.
I would like to do something to reduce the egts and the first thing that comes to mind is a 4" exhaust system. Am I on the right track, or is there something else I should do?
Any suggestions or advice would be welcomed, both on what to try and manufacturers of suggested products.
I put a Magnaflow 4 inch from the turbo back which eliminates the cat and egt's dropped about 200 degrees. It also really opened my truck up and produced more off the bottom power (not much turbo lag)and helps turbo spool up quicker.
