How to improve throttle response?

I just bought a 1996 f350 crewcab shortbox. 7.3L turbo, 5 speed and I want some better throttle response. I dont really need any more power, it has plenty for my liking. My first thought would be to get my turbo spooling up to max boost quicker....say at about 2000 rpm instead of around 3000rpm.

Also, can anyone give me some specs on these engines?
(ie: Boost pressure, hp& ft/lbs@rpm)

...and on a final note i was watching extreme 4x4 on spikeTV where they were building the suburban gorilla, and they had gail banks there and he was showing the stock intake manifold of a duramax, it did not have any individual intake runners, it was all like one big plenum right and the heads...is our intake like that? If so that SUCKS!

you can do the gas pedal mod where you bend the tab up a lil bit to make the throttle more touchy! a tuner/chip would also help

i shimmed my fpr and that gave me some better seat of the pants throttle response. losing your cat and installing a dp will help alot also. to get really good power get a chip also. stock hp at the crank for 96 is 215 not too sure on the torque #'s.
boost all depends on how many mods you have. stock you could probably get 16-17. maybe more if you got a 5 speed. with a chip and my other mods i can get 26. the most the turbo can handle is 30 after that you are drastically shortening the lifespan of it.

and too add to what fishman said search for the "hotfoot mod" it will give you full throttle in about a 1/2 inch of pedal movement from idle.

If you want to build boost faster you need to get a smaller exhaust housing. That will raise EGT's so you'll need to get a Pyrometer to monitor. They are fairly inexpesive.
