Where can I get a brake drum puller? The drums on my '64 F-100 are good and stuck (rust). A puller is all that's going to work. I'm having some trouble finding one.
PB Blaster on the axle flange, patience, after a few days soaking, heat the flange area while tapping on the outer drum. These are available new so if you cannot get it off its OKAY to torch it!
I need to remove all four. They are rusted on. I'm working on the ground. No lift. Backing-off the shoes is difficult. I'm hoping to pull the suckers off.
As Greg pointed out the fronts can have the budwiser clydesdales pulling on them and they will not come off. Remove the spindle nut and pull the entire hub/drum off the fronts.
The rears can be jimmeyed off but they need to be backed off. I have gotten real stubborn ones of by hitting the pins with a grinder at the backing plate and then pulling. Last resort is break the drum and then pur new ones on. Chances are if it has that much of a ridge its beyond spec for cutting.
