Now i'm moving off to exhaust.....not sure what to get yet....well i have some ideas.....their are pic's in my gallary of my truck.....i'm putting on side exhaust for sure.....right behind passengers door like lightening.....i'm going to buy a set of headers before spring and i'm using dual 3 inch slash tips.....i'm also having my local shop fab up exhaust brackets so i can take the cat on and off and bolt up a pipe instead....i need help with the kind of muffler...i'm thinking flowmaster 40 series 2 chamber with 1 in and 2 outs, bolora, bassani.....i'm not sure......what do you guys think
Why not a an exhaust gate? I saw on TRUCKS before where the host Stacy, put in an electric gate that when he wanted, he flipped a switch and the gate would close off the cat and open to a straight pipe. Pretty slick. I think they were called cut outs. It was on the Copperhead truck.
Yup...they are called exhaust cut-outs. The electric ones are expensive (around $350 for a pair), but there are also cable-actuated ones for much cheaper (around $30-$50 each)
There are also cut-outs that have 3 wingnuts on them...crawl under truck, unscrew, and thats it. I dont like these due to the hassle.
I am also choosing an exhaust system for my truck. I want a Flowmaster 30 or 80 series...but they are expensive compared to the 40 series (some cops in my town can be real d**k heads when it comes to loud exhaust)
Im putting dual 2.5" turn-downs on the muffler though....no exhaust pipe visible from the sides or back of the truck, and it will make it a little louder. Once I get some more money, I will put on headers and a pair of straight-through cats (or just gut the stockers).
