I'm very new and need some help. I got a Bronco 1980 with a 460 from a 1995 F-250. the Bronco had a 300 six-cylinder.
1. I'd like to put valve breathers on the heads, but the PVC valve connects to the Carb. The Carb. is made by Holley for Motorcraft in 1995. what do I do to properly plug that hole?
2. The bronco has a carbon canister from the six-cylinder. In the manuals that I have they show a line from a carbon canister to the Carb. where does that line connect to on the Holley Carb.? or is there a way to remove the whole assembly without damaging the gas tank in the long run?
3. I need to replace the heads. Any recommendations?
4. Also, the headers need to be replaced. Will Shorty headers or block huggers work better?
5. I'd like to run dual exhaust from the headers. any tips or places that will have parts for this?
Check out http://www.landlproducts.com or http://www.broncograveyard.com for the headers... Cylinder heads can be rebuilt by most any machine shop... You can scroll down to the bottom of the main forum index and find your state, and ask for good machine shops in your area...
A good exhaust shop can make any kind of fancy bends that you want...
Its a good idea to keep your PCV hooked up, this will help prevent blow by in the engine.
Carbon canisters usually are ineffective after a few years anyway... I've removed them from several vehicles and not had a problem.
Opps i'm sorry about the PVC valve, i wanted to put breathers on the valve covers and wanted to know if there was a way to plug the hole in the carb afterward. or is that still not a good idea?
thanks for all the help
