i have warn premiums. the difference between regular and premium was $20. i chose to go premium. there are pics in my gallery. it was about $180 for the pair. i believe that if you have a dana60 (all SRW SD's have them) the part for the premiums are 38826. ill check the site for info about the duallies. they have an hub spacer for the crazy-offset wheels.

yes, with mine you pull out the old stockers, put in the gear section of the warns (the side with the splines outside of the hub), put the circle snap ring in, and put 6 allen screws into the cap, then put the cap (that has the ****) on. it took me about 3 minutes to do them both, including pulling off the center cap of the wheel.

Yes, they are - I just went to Warn's website, and the part # for the "standard" hubs is 11690

Again, if you put them on and they are even a little bit loose, get the extra snap rings from Warn, they'll mail them out for free.

Ok - dumb question that I have always wondered....What benefit is there to aftermarkt Hubs like Warn?

I had the hubs out when I put new wheel bearing assembly in and the hubs look pretty simple....whats the deal?

I opened up one of my ESOF hubs, and what actually passes the power from the axle to the hub when locked is pathetically small ...

The Warn unit has much more meat ... and includes things that make SURE the thing will lock/unlock given the right amount of lubrication (at least in the Premium, but I suspect it's only a prettier version of the standard). Although after locking them, you should roll forward and back WITHOUT 4x4 to make sure they fully mesh.

Extra meat comes in much larger teeth on the "rotor" (what Warn calls it, the piece that slips in and out to lock or unlock) and what it meets up with... the Ford unit has teeth that are about 1/5th or less the size (but lots more of them), but the overall surface area of all the teeth has to be about 5 or more times in the Warn vs. Ford's.

And they look nicer than those black plastic-looking stockers (that's a heavy dose of sarcasm if anyone doesn't realize it)

Are you absolutely sure about that?

Is it just the "Super 60" front-ends?

Have to agree with strokin on how easy the warns are to put in. I just replace my auto with a set of warn premiums, and 3-5 minutes a piece.

I am not an expert in this area but I would think that your dads problem is in the transfer case not the hubs!
