Wow, it looks like my Camshaft Synchronizer and Sensor are both totally lunched....Can anyone confirm that the Synchro shaft is a dealer only item? I hate going in there and bending over.
Has anyone gotten one aftermarket or online?
Thanks..

1-I can't see in there well enough to mark anything with any real precision. Even if you removed the whole ignition and intake, it would still be way buried.
2-My manual (Haynes) doesn't explain how to get TDC on anything....there must be a better way than sticking a pencil in your spark plug hole.....
If you just pull the old shaft out and put the new one in without the piston right, even if it's in the same rotation, don't you risk screwing up the fuel timing?
Anyway, I got the parts for about $190 and I'm hoping my local shop will pop the shaft in for less than two hours time.....
This site is great though, keep it up.
Synchronizer is not just a dealer item just really hard to find anywhere else. I got mine online for my 1996 Ranger 3.0 V6 for $97.79 with shipping. Do a web search for a Motorcraft DA2094. Hope this helps somebody.
i do beleive dorman makes a compete sensor with a new shaft for about 40 dollars, came with this useless alinement tool, i just marked everything and swapped it out, this was on a taurus though.
