I used the master cylinder/booster/brake pedal assembly from 1979 Chevy truck. I had to section the pedal and cut about 1/2 inch off the end of the pedal mount, so it wouldn't stick out from the dash.
I haven't done it yet, but plan to use the kit from John's F-Fun Hundreds in Anaheim, CA. P/n 2100A (drum/drum) or 2100AA (disk/drum), $395. 1-800-563-3151. It is a complete bolt-on kit that includes the bracketry, new master cylinder and booster. It mounts into the stock holes on the frame.
yeah a power assembly from a mid to late 70's ford would be your best bet. Sure others are made, but these should be cheap and easy to find in a junk lot. Needs a little work, but should turn out ok.
Welcome to the board! What a great looking truck!!
On my 49 I used the power booster and pedal from a mid 90's small Ford (focus??). I fabricated my own pedal mount assy that tied the pedal to the dash, firewall, and steering column. I had to lengthen the pedal itself and still need to reweld the pedal pad back on.
There are several kits on the market if you can afford to go that route. http://www.mpbrakes.com/ http://www.ecihotrodbrakes.com/
I dont know what type of brakes you have or anythign else about your truck but if you wanted to keep everything stock and just add power you might look into t hydrovac. that is what i am think as it was an orgianal option on my truck. Sacromento vintage has new hydrovacs and brakets for them as well. if my link does not work search the sit for hydrovac as i hve posted on this before. hope this helps.
