Hi Im having a problem wiring up rear turn signals. I have a 55 F100 and got the tail and brake lights working fine. I dont know how to do the circuit for the flasher. Do I run the turn and brake together or will there be feed back to the brake switch. Thank for the help. Roy

My 55 F100 did not come with turn signals, I had to put an after market switch on. So I am guessing that you are doing the same thing or working with one that has been added. It’s been a while, I did this wiring job in 1964.
I ran wires from the switch to an add on lights mounted on the front fenders and to each rear corner of the bed. My 55 had only one brake and one marker light wires going to the back end in the factory wiring and they went to both lamps.
If you have a turn signal switch that will take a brake light wire input then you will have to run wires from the switch to each tail lamp and cut the factory brake wire to rear.
My 53 had the add-on lights on the fenders, but I didn't like the look. You can buy the add-on switch for the column like subford said, but make sure you buy the one that is made to take the brake signal wire. The turnsignal switch takes the flasher signal and the brake switch signal, and mixes them together to run the rear lights.
The truck I had was retro-fitted with add-on lights and a regular turn switch. So to combine the brakes and the turnsignals together, I used an adapter box that you can buy in the autoparts store for trailers.
This box takes the seperate signals from a vehicle that has amber turnsignals(seperate turnsignal system) and red brake lights, and combines the signals so you can hook a trailer up that has just two regular red taillights. I was doing basically the same thing with my truck wiring. I ran the signals from the simple turnsignal switch, and the brake switch into this box. Coming out of the box was the two wires going to the taillights for the truck. It worked pretty good.
