U Haul cabs
Hi what I was wanting to know if any of you guys know what UHaul put on their cabs . I have seen quite a fu of the 73-79 Ford U Hauls and they just dont seem to have any rust on them I found one a 78 the cab is perfit floors still have the paint on them just look like they were just painted. I am thinking of getting it and strip it and repaint and put it on my 79 my floor is starting to rust and the bottom of the doors too and if what they did worked for this long 20 + yrs then it had to be good . And another thing dose any one know where to get a set of assie heads have a 351m getting ready to overhull it have all the parts bought already now found a good 400 for 250.00 with a warrenty it in a 75 Ford car they said they would start it and let me dive it if I wanted to .Its in a friends slalvage yard and they dont have the tital to it so cant resale it.

I noticed that too. I've seen several '73-'79 Uhauls and none have any rust. I just assumed it was because they were sitting on a lot most of their lives and didn't get that much use...

I don't know if they used zebart or what it called but these truck have been all over the place from one state to another so you know they have had a lot of salt and road stuff on them and then set for a white before they go out agin so they had to be coated with some thing good to keep them this way

I have a friend that works for the u haul truck shop here in florida and he told me that spite what they look like on the lot they go through the trucks from front to back both mechanical and cleaning and that most that come from salt and snow areas get pressure washed especialy the undercarriage.He also added that they are well undercoated:-staun

I have seen alot of them here in Missouri,like I said the one i am getting is a 77 f350 the floors are perfit there is no rust any where even behind the fenders, rockers, door bottoms all the paint is still on every thing. if any one is looking for one and wants to go thru changing cab and all send me email address and when I see a nother one I will let them know don't know how much it would cast to ship one, alot I think but but they go for about 250.00 to 600.00 for a complet cab thats cab and front clip.It all depends on who has it
