Required or recommended mods with headers

On the page for those Ford Headers there is an * after the part numbers. On the bottom of the page, it says the * means, "Not legal for sale or use on pollution-controlled motor vehicles*. I wouldn't want to run those in CA.

In CA I'd run the Banks or Borla headers w/ Y pipe. They are CARB approved.

I've had Borla headers/y-pipe for a few years and am very happy w/ em. The EGR was hell to line up w/ the headers though. Also have the Diablo Delta custom tuned chip, Flowmaster cat-back w/ 30 Series muffler, Air-Aid intake, Granatelli MAFS, Edelbrock throttle body and TB spacer. I would look into a custom tuned chip to go w/ headers. Especially if you gonna put on additional engine mods (i.e., TB, MAFS,..). Ken at MotorHaven put a great tune on mine and they seem to be having a special on Diablo Delta chips.
