In a couple weeks I'll be stripping apart my '74 F250 Highboy for a change of color paint job. Practically everything is coming out or off of her; Windows, dash, all of the interior, bed, doors, hood, bumpers.. etc. I'm hoping some of you that may have done this or similar tasks can give me a heads up on some items that might easily be destroyed in the process that I should really take my time with.. because of their rarity in obtaining new parts. (don't worry about the dash.. I can take it completely apart with my eyes closed).
I will be putting in all new weather stripping where I can.
I am in the same place with mine right now. Just finished stripping the cab about 5min ago. I discovered that I have no future in glass, as the windshield now has more pieces than when I started. Other than that, the cab is no big deal. If you are taking the seatbelts out to paint the interior soak the bolts for a day or so with WD40 or something before you start. They can be a bugger.
