Putting the door panels back on my 78. Unfortunately, some of the plastic mounts that the door clips clip onto are broken. The mounts aren't broken, just the part the clips clip onto. Is there a fix for this? The door panels are mint on the outside so I'd like to avoid drilling holes in them.
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 24-Apr-02 AT 00:08 AM (EST)]ther are two kinds. on has two pieces of wire and a white piece of rubber between the two wires. the others i haven't seen. you can find these clips in any wrecker on any truck
Jayson,
Here's what I do. Get some plexigas or plastic that is flat and equal thickness of what broke off. Go to Home Depot and buy "GOOP" the marine type. Cut your plastic sheet into the required shape for a patch and glue them back in place. Use a weight to push the patch against the panel. Wait 24 hrs. and your good to go. If you've got the original part that's even better. GOOP rules!

The first post gave me an idea, My mustang panels are put in with white plastic fasteners. I'm going to try those. If they dont work, then I'll go with the Goop.
