After replacing the oxygen sensor, did you clear codes and recheck for codes.
A good check of injectors is checking clicking noise with stetoscope or some type of listening device. Some times when disconnecting fuel lines some dirt could enter the fuel system and restrict the operation of fuel injectors.
On distributor, with engine running, pull one spark plug wire at a time and check for a change of idle. Put spark plug wire back and pull another wire, do this till you have check all spark plug wires on engine. If you notice a spark plug wire when pulled does not change idle, there is the lying problem.
yes I have reset the codes, and now there are none, even with the koer test, i have listened the the injectors, tried 2 sets, the fuel pressure is at 41 with the key on and 36 when running
I haven't tried pulling on cylinider at a time, but I did notice that with the spout connector unpluged it runs better.
thanks agian
the spout connector for setting the ignition timing, when it is out it runs better.
according to a couple books i have 35-45psi but it doesn't say if that is running, or just key on, there was only 1 fuel filter and that has been replaced
Never heard of a spout connector off making the truck run better. Check the timing, with the spout connector off and with the spout connector on, and the engine running. The timing should be the same.
Check the power booster for vacuum leaks.
Trucks with dual tanks, at time have an additional filter, located on frame rail in the black canister where the two fuel lines join.
the timing was set to 10 btdc with the spout unpluged, I think that it added timing, but I didn't check it with it pluged back in. I have crimped off the booster to try that along with all the other vacuum lines one at a time with no change, except the map sensor.
I figured it has to be somthing the computer is seeing, as it always had a stumble at Idle with the old motor, and now with the new one and almost all new sensors(except map tps, iac and egr)
the only fuel filter I found was a canister on the frame rail, infront of the tank
(thereis dual tanks)
With spout connected the timing should be what the timing read with timing spout unplugged (10 degrees BTDC).
> Would a bad tfi module cause to much advance at idle?<
I not sure, but, if you remove the distributor, you can have the TFI module tested for free at your local Autozone part store.
the tfi module is on the fender, the pickup/hall sensor is in the dis.
from what I have learned the eec controls ignition advance, and the tfi just cleans the signal form the distributor to the computer, so now I just need to figure out why it is advancing so much.
also on the map sensor, I moved it to the junction on the front of the intake and that seems to have helped a little, there was a differance of 2inches higher than on the back of the upper intake.
