05 6.0, New EBS and new EGR , was doing the pow-pow on a slight pull, unplugged EGR and no more Pow-Pow, now just running along normal speed and stepping on throttle truck is dead, look at boost pressure and its reading 0, step down farther on throttle and it down shifts and boost comes back, might be alright for the rest of the day then again it might do this a few more times during the same trip, also have noticed this does it namely when engine temp. is almost to the normal setting, shut engine off and let it cool down for about an hour and it will do it again. Any ideas on what is going on.
I had the same problem towing up a hill. Pressure dropped to 0, loss of power for about 5 seconds, then came back. Dealer tried to tell me that when turbo pressure equals exhaust pressure, this happens. I'm not so sure.
No CEL, unplugged EGR because of the pow-pow going up hills on a slight pull, when shutting truck down, turbo from outside sounds normal and this seems to happen only when the engine is about to full normal operating temp. Like I said it doesn't seem to happen when engine is at normal temp.
The turbos on these trucks have a electronic switch since they are multi speed. We have been having numerous problems with this and ford has recently done another recall and reprogram. Now Im looking for a mod to bypass this and leave the sensor in the on position all the time. Also on our truck the backpressure butterfly for warmup would come on all the time as if the truck was cold..of course it was hot from pulling a trailer and this didnt make any sense. Could there possibly be a carbon buildup on the back side of this sensor? Ford has many many many in stock and we are wondering if for knows. And since we live in Arizona we have the worst lemon law and are unable to get a buy back for the other problems..hope someones mind starts ticking and helps the rest of us out for some home mods.
