Disconnecting the battery will certainly reset the PCM. Leave it disconnected for a while - usually a couple of minutes is enough, but might take longer.

It has always been my understanding that after you drive it for a while and the problem that casued the error has been fixed it will usually reset itself.

For right at $100.00, you can by a code reader that will let you reset it. Not sure how long you plan to keep the vehicle but it's a handy thing to have. If not, the battery cable disconnect should do it. As suggested, try leaving it disconnected for at least 15 minutes. Andris is also correct, a good weeks worth of driving should reset it.

If you want to take the time to do this and it should take about 45 minutes to an hour, there should be a driving/roadtest reset procedure in your owners manual.

Good luck with it.

The code reader Is good on most car with the same plug ,Toyota , Ford, Chevys, and Dodge. There others it will work on to. You can get rid for the codes to with it, it worth the money to have on hand.
