Exclamation 2001 Escape 4x4 Problems

I bought a 01 escape about 1 year ago it now has 110,000 miles on it. The tranny started to shutter between over drive. I had the trans flushed and it went away. (for good I hope)
I also noticed that there is a little amount of oil on the oil pan like its leaking from some where. I wiped the pan all down and within a days driving theres oil again. The engine block is all dry, so i have no idea? I was told it could be the oil filter so I wiped that all down and nothing.... filter is dry around it. the oil is trickling down from the front end of the oil pan... any ideas??

Has any buddy had any problems with the front cvc boots. Had to replace mine. I also looked at a 02 escape 4x4 and they were both riped and slinging grease all over and the dealer did not even know it!! (yeah right!)

But other then that the car rides and drives great and my wife and I are both happy with it.
