neutral safety switch

I need some help. I finally located a wiring harness for my truck in really good shape just like mine paid only 20.00 for it ,now here is the thing my truck is a 1976 but I have a 78-79 tilt column in it well it doesnt have the holes to mount the neutral safey switch on the column and i was wondering can i still use my factory saftey switch and just drill holes on the 78-79 column to mount it? or what should i do? oh i also got a perfect black dashpad for my truck today for 20.00 found them in a huge junkyard in arkansas. ravenden springs, roans auto salvage.he has lots of old trucks 73-79 models.cheap to.

You can use the NSS from the 78/79.

All you need is the harness, switch.

I have a pic if you need one.

You will have to check the trans you have for the special mounting holes first .

well yeah for back up lights you need it. but i have my reverse lights on a toggle switch when i need them. to bypass it you take the 2 small red wires with black stripes and connect them together.
