I need some help. I finally located a wiring harness for my truck in really good shape just like mine paid only 20.00 for it ,now here is the thing my truck is a 1976 but I have a 78-79 tilt column in it well it doesnt have the holes to mount the neutral safey switch on the column and i was wondering can i still use my factory saftey switch and just drill holes on the 78-79 column to mount it? or what should i do? oh i also got a perfect black dashpad for my truck today for 20.00 found them in a huge junkyard in arkansas. ravenden springs, roans auto salvage.he has lots of old trucks 73-79 models.cheap to.
my 78 truck with a c6 has the neutral safety switch on the tranny, they stopped putting the switch on the column ,reason you won't find the place for it in the column ,hope it helps,,MIke
how can i use the nuetral safety switch for the 78-79 its on the tranny isnt it? my truck is a 76, so im not sure what to do? if i have to ill go back to a regular steering column to ease things.
how did you do that may i ask? does your backup lights still work? i thought you had to have the NSS to get the truck to start and have backup lights?
well yeah for back up lights you need it. but i have my reverse lights on a toggle switch when i need them. to bypass it you take the 2 small red wires with black stripes and connect them together.
