I just read the homepage article about late model fords having auto-lock. I tried the sequence to enable/disable it and i get the honks and beeps i'm supposed to hear but the locks don't "auto-lock" when i drive. Is the 2001 ranger equpped with this, and if not why does the horn react as if i'm doing something? Maybe i enabled the "eject mother-in-law" feature.
I tried the same thing on my 99, got all the beeps, grunts & clicks, but no auto lock, guess that part wasn't programmed into our GEM. Maybe one from an Exploerer would work!!!!!
the rangers arent equiped with the auto lock feature. My freinds 2003 has the factory keyless entry and it doesn't lock at 10 mph like the explorer does. It bugs him that my aftermarket alarm does automatically lock the doors.
most of these older trucks dont have the auto-lock feature the chirps indicate that you entering a set up mode to change other features. The newer ones do have auto-lock in fact most all fords 05 and up have auto-lock exept for the escpae?!?
My 2005 Ranger doesn't auto-lock either. Tried the instructions, got all the right honks at the right times, but no auto-lock. Took my mother-in-law for a ride, still have her.
Still trying to figure out why Ford lit up the cruise buttons on the steering wheel, but not the window and lock buttons on the doors, like every other Ford I have ever owned...
I put in aftermarket power windows and i have the BMW style power winbow switches frenched into the door panel were the crank used to be. Mine all light up, they came with red bulbs but i changed them to green LEDS and they match my cruise buttons and dash lights perfectly. I dont care for the stock piece that the ranger has the power window switches in because it's too wide and i have long legs and would have trouble operating the clutch if i had the stock set up.
