I'm going to put my starmate in tomorrow, too. I was thinking about running the antenna wire through the center clearance light. Will it fit? I didn't even open the package yet.
I ran mine out the clearance light. Just need to take off the center light. Drill a hole in the bottom plastic next to the bulb to fit the connector through. Last you need to trim a small notch in the back of the light for the wire to go through. All done. Looks nice after it is installed. You can barely see the antenna up there.
I also installed the starmate R in the small extra glovebox next to the drivers legs. I can close it and you cant see the unit. Help keep thieves away.

Outstanding. I also have a Starmate replay. Just what I had in mind for the antenna but I hadn't thought about installing the unit in the ashtray(?) thing. I have also thought about making a custom bracket to mount to the front of the pull-out cupholder but hadn't investigated the feasability yet. I didn't get to perform my permanent install yet due to snow on Sunday. I'll try today, if I have time.
