I have a 97 f250 diesel and want to swap the automatic for a manual gear box. Any idea on how hard it is to do? The truck is a 4x4. I'm tired of replacing the trans. The truck has 270,000+ miles on it and the auto tranns just can't hold up with the towing I do. The first one lasted some 160,000 mi. then it has been down hill from there. I'm lucky if I can get 70,000 on a rebuilt tranns. I just want to do the swap and forget about it. Will a bigger tranns like from a f550 fit with the 4x4 gear box? HELP! Thanks. R.
