yes i know i just posted, but another question popped up, i know diesels are unlevel, but are gas f250's unlevel and if so what leveling kit should i get and how high does the front need to go? thanks for the help.
yes, gassers are unlevel from factory. however, it is generally only by about 1.5-2 inches. since the 250's come with the 2.5" rear block, then you would only need to go up about 2 inches. there are lots of kits out there, and they are all about the same.... sure some will be higher than others by maybe a quarter inch or so, but thats not really noticable with the eyes. you can always change out the rear block though if the leveling kit doesnt get just what you want. i just switched my rear out with the 4" blocks off an f350 to go with my 2.5" leveling kit, and it gives me the look i want. goodluck !!
what size are the factory rear blocks, i would like to get the leveling kit to give me room for 35's but i heard that i would have to change my gears, i'm not positive what gears i have, but i have the 6.8 v10. if that helps, thanks for your help so far.
well, whoever told you that you would need to change your gears is not totally correct. you do not "need" to, but a lot of guys do to re-gain the low end torque that the bigger tires rob you of. the v-10 is a very good engine. i know that the diesel 7.3 will turn the 35's with stock gears no prob. i would assume the v-10 would too, but i have not talked to anyone with it. i know that my stock 250 gears were 3.55's. i am about to put on a set of 33's, and then i will see how the 5.4L does with them. my stock blocks are considered to be a 2.5" block, the rear of them measures 2.75 inches, and the front edge measures 2.5". i just switched out to the f350 stock blocks and put in a leveling kit too. let me know if there is anything we can help with. matt
good evening guys, I'm a new member and was reading about the leveling kit ?'s. I just put a 2.5" leveling kit on my 05' 250 and it now sits 3/4" higher in the front. If I put different blocks in the rear springs will that help with the leveling or was it something the business did that installed the kit?
The leveling kits can't and won't give you exact lift because that depends on engine weight, equipment (i.e. winch) installed, etc. You can get slightly taller blocks for the rear, but I would wait a few months since sometimes springs will sag a bit.
thanx aurgathor, I didn't put nothing in the rear except for new shocks, the leveling kit was for the front end.I was wondering if I should add one or two springs to the rear or put larger blocks for the spacer bars, or if the lowering spring clamps would work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
