Ford remote start?

I'm looking into getting a ford remote start and was wondering what is involved on hooking it up? It's a 05 5.4 with the automatic tranny. Thanks in advance.

You may want to seriously consider getting the dealer to do it. My dealer gets an outside company to do it cause they don't want the hassle.
I've got one in my 05 and love it. Great whet it's -20° C

Did you have the key fob remotes before? and if so does the replacement key fob still unlock your doors? (keyless entry option)

i was thinking the same thing. but hows the range, i have the same problem as in the other post; my key fobs barely work. theres no point in remote start when i can just walk the other 10 steps and turn it on myself.

I had a Viper installed and I love it. Range is great, locks and unlocks doors, remote start, rolls windows up and down, it even turns to heated seats on. It is the best.

I checked on getting remote start for my truck but was discouraged to find installation more than the kit itself.

What kind of installation prices did you guys find?

Yup the new fob replaces the original, and my range is great. Even from inside the house.
Dealer charged two hundred (CDN) for the install.

That's the same kind of installation prices I found. I'm just not sure I want to spend that kind of money for installation.

Remote starter

I had a FORD starter installed a week ago. The cost of the starter and installation was $413.80 and that included tax. Was bought and installed at Pundmann Ford, St. Peters Missouri. The Ford kit comes with two additional keys fobs that have four buttons on them versus three. The old fobs still work they just can't start the motor. I love the thing and the range is excellent!
