You have to get a special Microwave pizza pan that gets hot and crisps the crust as the pizza is cooking. Wally's had them, think they were made by Presto. (were right next to the Presto Power Pops popcorn maker) If you don't use one you'll have a soggy pizza.

Minus the special crisper paper, you'd just end up with a soggy-crusted pizza. It would be hot, but it would be very limp, and as the crust cooled, it would get very tough.

We've grilled a few in the past, but it never occurred to me to smoke them. On the list now...

Wouldn't smoking a pizza take longer than just cooking it in a conventional oven? Or is it just the challenge/ art of doing it?

It would definitely take longer. But smoking is about the flavor...can't be beat.

I used to make the Totino's frozen in the microwave. Yeah, a little soggy as I recall. That was quite a few years ago.

The very best Pizza (you young guys coldn't know about this) was the pizza from the Square in El Paso.
In '58' we got a huge Pizza and a Bottle of Bud for $1.10. Top that!

Being a chef/cook from way back, I always thought Pizza tasted the best before it started smoking *HUGE GRIN*

Couldn't resist Dutch.

I often bake a Pizza in the BBQ , (Gas Grill to Merkins)

Greywolf, that's a great idea! I'll try it out this weekend, if it works I'll tell my wife I thought it up all by myself. She won't believe that of course. If I ruin it she'll get a good laugh..... I better have a backup plan.
