well i took off the running boards and rear fender's. i was hopeing to save the factory bed but it is bad . i added up the cost of new material and it will be close to a new bed kit. has anybody bought one from midwest early ford. look's like best priced one so far.i will be able to save the stock fender's on back with a little patch work. just checking on other place's first.might miss a better deal. thank's.
The last bed I bought was from Tood Murthum up in Detriot. You can order from him with no stake pockets or unwanted holes.I don't remember what the cost was.I plan on ordering my current project bed from Todd too.
midwest sell's a complete bed with no fenders for 1,995.00. everything needed with hardware and wood kit. i had close to that with what i need to repair my old bed.

I bought a ProsPick bed including all hardware, new tailgate, oak floor, SS strips with hidden bolts, and hidden tailgate latch for around $2600.
I bought the bed you are talking about for my 48. I was very impressed with it. And I bought a set of running boards and rear fenders for my 47 truck. As far as i am concerned thats the place I'll buy all of my stuff from.
