ps started overflowing @ idle.....

first time I've taken the truck out since the rebuild......I drove it about 10 miles and came home.....it's idleing in my driveway for about 5 min when p/s fluid starts coming out of the pump dipstick tube.....I've had the truck idleing for much longer than that before without any problems so I guess it was due to the extra heat from actually driveing it....anyway I think it's because the ps line is only about 1 - 2 inches from one of the header primary tubes.....It's where the metal tube joins the rubber hose near cyln #5....you think that my be the problem....?

the fluid level was correct...I have headman headers.....thought someone might have had a similar problem ....71 F100 390.....

Only time I had this problem was after replacing my gear box. I did not properly bleed the box, so every time I turned in one diretion it would spue over. You can always buy some pipe insulator to sheild the heat from that line. The aluminum covered foam style insulator should be the cheap and easy way to go. If it is the heat. Only reason that should cause the res to over flow is if there is an air bubble inside the lines. Usually thats only possible if you have removed some part of the system, similar to a brake system.
