I just recently inherited a ford granada. It has the 3.8 litre V6. I would like to put it in my ford courier but I am not sure if it can be done. Is this going to be a simple swap? If anyone has ever attempted this let me know. Thanks
hi I have put a few 302's in mazda's and couriers. my older brother had a '76 courier with a 3.8 that hauled but! the trouble is that its to wide and the oil pan is in the back instead of the front. lots of modifycation and it will work. he had to make his own headers and cut the old engine mounts off and trim the crossmember and all sorts of other stuff. if you really want it it can happen but I am just letting you know its not for the amateur swaper "no offense intended" the 3.8 has the same block bolt pattern as a 302 but thats all. the 302 is very tight front to back and it is a beter fit with four speed because of the small tunnel and also make sure to get the small flywheel and clutch housing so starter does not rub near the steering idler arm bolts. I have alot more info but this is already to long happy swaping and good luck!
