High idle on remote starter

High idle on remote starter

I've hooked my high idle to my remote starter with a timer relay. My question is how long should the truck idle at normal rpm before I kick in the high idle? Right now I have it set to come on after 2.5 minutes.

To be honest with you, I think you'll find it already high idles when you remote start it. Mine stays at about 1,900 until I hit the brake when I first get in.

My truck idles under 750 when I start it. High idles at 1200. Is 2.5 minutes long enough before high idle?

I think if your truck is cold you will find it idles up on its own. I set mine high idle and it kicks on in a couple mintes. Well after the oil pressure has come up. That would be my only concern is oil Pressure is up before high idle. Heats up the truck way faster. My hi idle is the mod done on this site, runs at 1250.
