i bet there a ton of posts about this quesstion but im new to the site and havent learned where everything is yet. I got a 04 350 diesel, and i was wondering if deleting my cat would really help bring out the turbo noise? whats the best way to do so? oh and has anyone tried takin out the turbo silencer?
how would i go about guttin the cat. just cut it open i take it, and then what. just take out the beads or w.e and weld it back up? my dad and i do all the work on our truck so its never at the dealership but if there was problem they wouldnt really know it was guted right?
Quite a lot of people are ILEGALLY hollowing out or removing the Catalytic Converter. It is a violation of federal law to muck with a REQUIRED air quality componant. The EPA mandates CC's otherwise the manufactures wouldn't put em on. You gut the cat, you don't have a legal vehicle.
Its only gonna get worse. In 07 you'll see NOx scrubbers as well.

It has a mesh material inside. My advice would be to buy an exhaust system which leaves the converter, then buy a converter test pipe that will bolt in place. That way, if you need the converter back in for some sort of inspection or warranty work, it will bolt back in.
