Another heated seats question!

I did a search and read thru 8 pages and still couldn't quite find my answer.

I have an 00 Ex Limited. The heated seats worked great about a month ago. After a few miles my **** was on fire and had to turn them off. Now I'm getting nothing. The light still comes on, nothing has been done under the seat and all the connections seem to be in place under there.

I was reading some other posts on heated seats and read of a pressure switch, is there one?? Also some people seemed to complain that the seats were inconsistent in heating (sometimes hot, sometimes not).

Any advice?

Just had both heating elements replaced in my F350 King Ranch and the new ones are no better if not worse then the first set. I have read in other forms, people can hardly notice any heat at all. The dealer had an 06 King Ranch setting on the lot, the seats never got hot, I say Ford has a heated seat problem, anyone agree?

I dont have the factory option. But I think I am going to install the aftermarket ones. Maybe the aftermarket grid is better??? I saw a install movie and it doesn't look too hard to self install.

maybe the king ranch doesn't get hot because the leather i so thick? i used to have a pontiac grand prix gtp and the seat got hot as hell..my wife has a new trailblazer ext and again, the seats get hot as hell. my dodge ram 2500 has aftermarket leather seats with heat, and yet again, seats get very hot. my X doesn't have heated seats--burr, cold in the winter. it's obveous that ford has a problem with their heated seats. the only thing i can think of would be to remove the factory seat element and replace it with an aftermarket one.

That might an option, but it will be Ford that does it with an after market element, but if it is the thickness of the leather in a King Ranch, then you would think Ford would adjust for the thickness. It gets hot for a minute then nothing and 40 minutes later it will get hot again for a minute then nothing. But there is no set period between times it gets hot.

I must be the only one with a good set of factory heated seats. I have an 02 X Limited with over 100000 miles on it and the seats will cook your bottom. (Knock on wood) now if I could just get my remotes to work like they are supposed to.
