electric door lock problem

the button or remote doesn't work for locking either door? You can see the button move very slightly but doesn't lock? Someone has looked at it and said the motors on both doors are no good? Doesn't seem logical to me that both motors would be bad. Any other suggestions here? Thanks!

If there is some action at the visible door lock plunger, I would be taking the door panels off and liberaly sprying the mechanizms with some penetrating lubricant.
