Are the U-bolts the same size in a 1955 F-100 and F-250 rear leafs, or would they be too narrow and not long enough. I'm putting together a stock suspension F-250 and can't get a clear answer from the parts books thought you guys may have some personal experience.
If I'm not mistaken they are not interchangeable. The F-250 U-bolts fit a 3" axle tube and the F-100 axle is smaller. I'm sure someone with more experience will be around in a bit and confirm this.
I don't think they would be, but I don't know. I do know that if you need a couple you can run down to your local truck spring shop and have them made - likely for less than you would spend ordering from the repo guys, and you would know they were correct for your use.
I wasted a lot of time and money on my springs buying parts that didn't work from the repo people, only to have the local spring shop have every bushing and bolt I needed on the shelf and for less money.
The stock parts won't interchange between an F-100 and an F-250, the F-250 axle and springs are bigger. Most of the stock F-250 suspension parts are available from various vendors. I used Joblot Automotive in NY when I did my F-250. A local spring shop can probably make them up for you as well.

This is also true for the 48-52 F-1 versus the F2 and F3 trucks. Both The springs and axle is wider and the U-bolts will not interchange...
Thanks for the replies I will have to check with a spring shop when I get down in the area where my truck is becasue I haven't found anything with in 50 miles of where I'm at now.
