Picture request - Before and after leveling kit

Could a couple people who have done the 2 or 2.5" front leveling kit please post a before/after picture?

A buddy of mine told me he thinks it'd make my front higher then the rear - I don't, but I need proof.

Thanks.

PS - I have a 2001 F250 SD 5.4L

VERY nice - It makes a bigger difference than I thought it would!

Did you do the install yourself??

Last question - I see kits on EBay (rough country) that have JUST the springs for around $70:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/99-04...QQcmdZViewItem

Then there's the kits that have springs/shocks for $270:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Rough...QQcmdZViewItem

Is all of that necessary, or will the $70 kit suffice??

i installed it all by myself, took me 6 hours. but i took alot of breaks.

FTE wont allow posting of EBAY auctions, therefore i would recommend removing the link and just posting the actual item numbers. i am guessing that the $70 kit is just the "add a leafs" which are half"butting" it, do it right and get a whole new spring pack, with new shocks. that is the route i went, $320 with shipping. mine is that one, the rough country one BTW. if you get it and have any questions on installation, ill be right here.

if you dont really care about your truck or if you are going to put this on a chevy, get the add-a-leaf. the new spring pack is much smoother and better riding.

Thanks for the advice -

I didn't know about the EBay links , I'll remove them now.

I'll go for the complete kit, too

If you want to go the other way, here's my before/after on an F350
with the 4" rear blocks removed :-)

Additional pics in my gallery.

I needed this mod to get under my 5th wheel.

I'll be adding air-springs(ride rite) on the back to enable some degree of compensation.

Well, I DEFINITELY want to go up, now my question is 2" or 2.5", since it's only a $10 difference. I don't have a huge rake, so I'm thinking 2" will be fine?

i have no need to go 145 though...

JBROCK, i would say 2''. the short wheelbase will make a higher front more noticeable. make sure to order the "gas" springs. not diesel.

I do not know about your year model but it made both my 03 and 06 6.0L 4x4 short box sit about 1.5" higher in the front. I took out the 2" spacer in the rear and replaced it with a 3.5" factory spacer that made the truck sit about 1/8" higher in the front measured from front and rear bumpers. You can see some pics in my gallery of the newer truck I am driveing now. The kit was a Fabtech 2.5" leveling kit. Works fine with no complaints.

sorry- this pic has my mustang it also ... its only picture I have on my computer at my work.

show your friend...

this is with the fabtech 4" and rear 1" block in the rear - it sat a 1/2" higher in the back before i took the block out! with the block out it sits 1/2" lower in the rear then the front. so the 2.5" leveling kit for my truck would sit a 1/2" lower in the front.

I ordered the complete kit today - Shocks and all - I don't want to cut corners, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't buying something I didn't need.

Thanks guys!
