The Ford service manual is a good item to have. Another good source of information on these vehicles is this site.

Somebody put this together some years ago. Not sure it is maintained or updated any longer but there is a wealth of good information on it for Explorer's from the 90's.
Good luck, stay warm and don't hesitate to post if you find something. One of these days, I'll have to visit the motherland. Unfortunately, I've never been.

I thought i had done everything that was possible without special tools and, so i gave up and took the car on a trailer to a ford Workshop where the boss have been working with Explorers. IT WAS THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR that was the problem. He found this out in 45 minutes. And i have had the car to two different places and myself doing all (i thought).
So it took three weeks but now it is running again
