I like all the info tuners provide, seeing and resetting codes, downloading to laptop, etc.
But I really like the instant gratification of a flip-chip at a stoplight next to a ricer.
What is the best of both worlds?
Is there something that I can leave hooked up that provides all the info that something like a Predator does WITHOUT "tuning" the engine?
In your user control panel you need to check the option to show signatures.
It's the "Edit Options". Scroll down, put a check in the box, scroll to the bottom of the page and save.
Bringing the thread back to it's original question;
Anyone know of something that can be hooked up to the data port at all times and provide what Steve is looking for?
Stave I like the code reader too but i dont have much exsperience with either. but I thnk if you got the cash I would get a t wildman, Jtripton chip..
by the way I can see your sig. It says"2003 F250 PSD 7.3 LB 4X4, Kwik mod, Coolant filter, Tranny filter, a/c mod, ST9007's, 203 thermo, Bilstein shocks, DiPricols in an A-Pillar, CCV mod

Can you see mine I thinK I was having the same problem? J
lets get this straight- if you are not a supporter (you donate $16 to the site to become a supporter), your signature will not appear below your post. however, it will still appear if you scroll over the "signature" on the right side of the post below post count.
No strokin, just the opposite.
I see the word "Signature" on everyone's post but it's like plain text. Rolling over it does nuffin.
I know there are programs out there for a laptop and serial cable that give the same info that a tuner does but can they also reset codes? Are they as informative and easy to read like the tuners?
I should rephrase that, make it USB, not serial.

If I use Internet Explorer, cursoring over the word "Signature" in the upper right, shows me the person's signature. In Kwik's case, which has a hyperlink, I can't "chase" the link, because as soon as I do, I'm off the word, and sig box goes away.
If I use FireFox, which is what I normally use, cursoring over the word "Signature" does nothing. Steve, are you using FireFox or another non-IE browser?
I wonder if this is all a Java applet and I have Java turned off on one of the browsers.
Being a supporter, I can see everyone's signature at the bottom of their posts, and I can get mine to post, too.
Did I make any sense at all?

Pop, yes, I use FF.
I checked all the settings, allowed popups, Java, etc.
It started doing it two updates ago and I can't finger it out.
Yeah, I roll over and see em with IE (individual exposer) but I don't use IE.
I have to say the Diablo Predator is a cool Tuner for sure. Just today i was thinking it would be cool to have a bracket or something so you could leave it hooked up all the time. I'm really liking the live data option.. Dosent the edge have live data, on that little box you mount on the dash? Think it also has EGT..
Oh, I too can see signatures if I roll my cursor over the signature line below your post count
EGT, Boost, Backdown, RPM, Engine oil Temp, Tranny Temp, Exhaust Backpressure. All of this with the stock setting on both modules.
The features on the Evolution are hard to see on a permanent basis. They need to make a mount for it that puts it 3.5-4.72" in front of your left eye. I'm guessing that's impracticl though.

Go with a DP Tuner/Jody Tipton 4 or 6 position chip and Auto Enginuity Diagnostic software.
