ok, i have a 1989 B2 4wd.
When i drive it over ~20 mph, it makes this horrible noise from the front left tire, and its been doing it ever since i used the 4wd about a week ago.
any help would be appreciated.
its auto hubs, but both are unlocking, because i lose power to the front wheels, so im not real sure what it is.
It was happening a while back, and it stopped, but i used the 4x4 the other day and unlocked and its started again.

It could just be losing power to the front wheels because the transfer case disengages. The front hubs can stay engaged even though the transfer case disengages. Are you certain the hubs are disengaging? Does it make the noise while the t-case is in 4WD? Auto hubs are known for making noise when they are supposed to be disengaged. Are the hubs packed with grease? They are supposed to be "dry," meaning that there can be a small film of grease inside the hub, but it shouldn't be packed full. Sometimes excess grease in the hub makes it try to engage when it shouldn't, and, thus make noise.
