Hi guys,
I was wondering if there was a relay that was shared by both the temp gauge and fuel gauge, and if so, where is it located? These two gauges do weird things after the vehicle warms up and I was thinking that it might be a relay on its way out. Thanks for your help.
What do you mean, famous for doing it? Is it common for the gauges to be unstable in a Bronco ll? I have never had one before so I'm not used to this. I really don't recall anyone ever talking about this sort of thing. I just hope that there's an easy and cheap way of solving this problem.
I don't have the correct wiring diagram, but I suspect the dash gauges either share a common power supply or common ground that could cause the behavior you're seeing. Our moderator, Ken00, seems to have access to many wiring diagrams, you might see what he can get you, or get a hold of a good manual and see what you can find.
My 1989 Ford diagram show they are both powered by fuse 16, a red/yel wire and share a comon ground, the volt, tach & oil also share this ground. The ground location is listed as " in center of LH fender apron near top ".
Thanks for all your help and shared knowledge. I think I'll go out and get a manual and start doing my homework and try to understand this thing. Any suggestions on a good manual that an idiot can understand. Thanks again.
