I have an SROD tranny in my 82' bronco. I am going to have someone rebuild it and I am looking for a rebuild kit and a seal kit to the bellhousing and t-case. I know JEFF'S bronco grave yard has a kit for about $105. I just wanna know the different companies that might make what Im looking for? I also want to know if there is a way tro "beef" up the tranny to take some more abuse? Its a DD for about 75% of the time, but its that other 25% that it needs to be top notch.

Search via google using SROD, T170, or RUG. Or Rebuild kits.
That price sounds right.
As far as I know, you can't beef these up. I have the side mounted linkage version, and the guy at "Sticks Only" in Los Angeles area said nothing could be done. These were built by Tremec on the toploader pattern, so apparently nothing (like gearsets) exchanges.
ZF 5 speed would be beefier, and lighten the wallet as well.
No, as I figured for what i could get the ZF and parts for and what not would be $1500. This rebuild and converting to hydraulic will be only about $500. I dont have $3k for both my ZF and lift now.
